Inspire a Positive Emotional State with Essential Oils.

EMOTIONS!!!!  Those crazy feelings that are up and down all day long. How do they affect us? How are they kicked off? And How can we find balance by using 100% organic, therapeutic essential oils?

Every day has challenges of its own and essential oils are a fantastic way to support your emotions and balance your body.

Needless to say our thoughts create actions, yes, literally shaking, stresses, hunched up. It’s super important that you know how you should feel and how you want to feel.  We DO feel all day long. Our emotions demonstrate how our body will act and what support it needs.

People react differently to stress and emotions depending on whether they are right brained or left brained. Let me explain. The right brain handles emotions, empathy, people oriented. These people verbalize and actually FEEL the stress in the body.  Left brain people are more linear, exact and don’t FEEL the same stress in the body. Often they don’t acknowledge it believing it’s not there at all. Super positive etc. It is there and the brain has to deal with it. The brain needs to restore the balance in the body’s cells.

The cells have receptors which impact on behavior and are processed daily via complex neural pathways. The body has to adapt to sress, genetic, hormonal, adrenal, health, mood disorders. Different people react differently and the LIMBIC system in the brain tries to figure it out. Every sensory sensation we see, feel, touch, taste and smell has to be analyzed by the brain to get back to balance.
The science behind the therapeutic oils has shown the benefits of the oils in the body.
We want to feel happy, empowered, abundant, motivated and the oils can help here.

We have 3 types or areas of brain function.
·       Mind, which is responsible for logic and intellect. Our subconscious mind processes 90% of our behavior and we don’t even know it.
·       Heart. Neuropathetic. Intuition.
·       Gut. Produces Serotonin the happy hormone. Regulates the liver and digestive system.
They each have to communicate and influence the brain. The brain has to process every experience in the body. The oils offer a tool as a support system to aid the emotional system in the brain. We have to keep it rolling to keep the balance.

The nervous system in the brain is the only system that never turns off. Can often work harder during the night restoring and repairing cells. Then we get a trickledown effect from the brain to our body’s systems – digestive, cardiac, hormonal.

Stuff happens to us all in life. We get tension which creates conflicting feelings, feeling of disorientation even feelings of not being good enough. The belief system kicks in and starts to produce negative thoughts and emotions.

Oils can help in several ways.
1.    Balance and restore. Citrus oils are great for this.
2.    Elevating the mind.
3.    Back in tune – focused.
Balanced loving feelings and thoughts. Frankinsence.
The oils interact chemically in the body to help DETOX emotions. Remember 1 drop of oils = 40million molecules released and helps return emotions to a natural state and maintain cells.
Note. The word PURE does not mean chemical consistency.
Here are a few emotions and the types of oils to use.
·       Anxiety.  Mintier oils like Peppermint.
·       Fearful. Floral oils
·       Grieving. Tree oils
·       Angry. Herbs and grasses.
·       Disconnected. Spicy.

You need to weed out negativity such as T.V., relationships, diet, chemical and environmental. So with the help of essential oils you can begin to plant new beliefs in your life to grow the whole YOU. Develop new practices like Yoga and Pilates. Eat a clean diet. Fill up your bucket drop by drop and develop confidence, belief, hope, happiness, optimism and contentment.

Any time you hold a bottle of powerful essential oils, you are holding the purse essence of health promoting botanicals that can be diffuse, applied topically, incorporated into a massage or taken internally,

How to Travel with Essential Oils

How to Travel withEssential Oils

I love to travel whether on vacation or for business. I get to meet so many interesting people. Sometimes the schedule can be crazy. I like to empower other people, especially women, to build their own businesses whilst raising their families and for some of you building a second income stream after the family have flown the nest. Travel takes its toll!!!!!!!!
It’s important to plan ahead I need oils to protect the immune system, create great nightly sleeps, ease any jet lag and general support for energy, metabolism, moods and hormones.
Our bodies get in and out of balance, travelling or not. Travelling is a challenge so why not strive towards a better homeostasis.

Everyone has their favourite oils and here are some of mine:

Waterless hand purifier, I love this.
Plus I take my Ning Xia Red vitamin supplement for my immune system.
Remember to take your skin care, sun care and protection against to nasty little insects.
Whatever my issue I’m going to have an oil for it!!!

4 Special tips for travelling.
·       Invest in a carrying case with a zip lock.
·       For road trips –Peppermint for tiredness. Invest in a small car diffuser.
·       Buy a plastic case with zip for customs.

Regulations for Air Travel.
First ensure that all the bottles are well closed and protected against any bangs or hits.
I’ve never had any problems not even in the cabin.
You do have to follow the European rules for carrying liquids. Other countries will also have their own regulations.
·       Individual Oils no more that 100ml in a plastic transparent bag with an opening and closing system---zip.
·       No more than 1 liter in total.

Do the scanners and x rays affect the oils?
I’m not an expert, but in my own experience I believe the scanners have not affected the quality or the balance of the oils. I have never noticed the reduction in potency or efficacy.
It is possible to ask for the inspection to be done manually if not tooooo busy!!

Many people ask me what is in my bottles and what are they for? Great conversation starter for your journey!

Prepare well and enjoy your travel.

Why Essential Oils?

Why Essential Oils?

Natures Masterpiece

Supporting Lifelong Wellness.

Essential Oils, What are they? What are their benefits and uses?
First, let’s take a look the history books. Essential oils have been around for over 5000 years.  For Kings and Queens of Ancient Egypt they were part of their medicine cabinet and beauty routines. We’ve all heard of Frankincense, Myrrh, Lavender, and Peppermint. They were also used in Jesus’ time. Remember the Three Wise men who brought Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh. These oils would have been used to protect baby Jesus. Frankincense is an anti-inflammatory, helps the immune system and crosses the blood brain barrier. Myrrh is a disinfectant. It can help with stretch marks and hormones.
Because the land around Egypt was very fertile the plants and trees that   grew naturally in the Nile Valley were used to produce these oils.
It is important to understand how they are sourced and produced to provide those essential therapeutic molecules that live within the plant. These molecules within the plant are essential to the life of the plant and produce its natural energy. Different aromatic plants produce different oils. The oils are extracted from flowers, trees, bushes, seeds and roots. Plants are sourced from their natural habitat and organic soils, like lavender in Provence. Lavender grown in other areas will produce different properties because of the chemicals of the soil.

For them to be 100%pure they must be grown on organic land without pesticides.  They are tended from Seed to Seal. That is from the organic seed when it is planted, through the harvesting, distillation process and bottling.

This is the only way the abundant active molecules can be protected. It takes 50lbs of lavender flowers to produce one little bottle of essential oil!!!!!
The molecules in these oils are so small that when you place  them on your skin they are immediately absorbed into the body. This means they don’t have to travel through our intricate internal systems.

How can Essential Oils be Used?
  •  The oils have several different and methods of use this depends on the individual  oils.
  •     Topical. Some oils have to be diluted before using topically.
  •    Inhalation direct from the bottle.
  •   Via a difuser.
  •  In food and recipes.

Oils are very safe but a word of warning. When it says 1 or 2 drops that’s exactly all it needs. They are highly concentrated and potent. If you are on medication from your doctor it is always wise to consult before taking essential oils.

Therapeutic Uses of Essential Oils.

1.    Help eliminate toxins from the body.
2.    Stimulate the immune system
3.    Eliminate bacteria
4.    Help fight against viruses.
5.    Anti -septic
6.    Anti-inflammatory.
7.    Help with healing wounds, scars. Rashes.
8.    Aid respiratory system, allergies etc.

The oils penetrate the skin and arrive at the cellular level of the DNA where they can begin their almost magical healing work.

Don’t forget our animal friends as the oils are great for them too!!!!!

SoLet's talk History of Essential Oils

So Let's Talk History of Essential Oils
E
ssential oils are gaining worldwide recognition for their versatility, The use of botanicals as healing agents is a long-standing practice throughout human history. In fact, essential oils and other botanicals have been used in wellness practices as early as at least 5,000 years ago.
Let’s explore a culture where some of the earliest recorded uses of essential oil precursors began: Egypt.
Ancient Oils in Ancient Egypt
The fertile soil around the Nile River became a source of life throughout Africa. The kingdom of Egypt grew around the Nile delta; and its name became synonymous with power, wealth, and technological advancement.

The abundance of food in Egypt, owed to the richness of the land, allowed for the development of a rich culture, which included some of the earliest advances in writing, agriculture, urbanization, and central government. In addition, this progressive culture was the perfect stage for innovation in herbal medicine.

One of the first recognized compilations by ancient healers is called the Ebers Papyrus. Although it dates from approximately 1,500 B.C., it is believed to have been copied from earlier texts. The scroll contains recipes, ceremonies, and other information that Egyptians deemed worthy of preservation.

Excerpt from Ebers Papyrus.
But, of course, the most famous Egyptian use of aromatic botanicals is in mummification. In preparing the bodies of the deceased for burial, embalmers used various botanicals such as cinnamon, resins such as frankincense and myrrh, and an early form of cedar or juniper essential oil.
With such cutting-edge advances, Egypt’s international renown drew researchers from neighboring countries, leading to expanded use of botanicals in everyday life. We’ve talked about the emergence of Egypt as a leader in the field of essential oil usage.* Ancient Egyptians used many plant recipes for healing and spiritual practices, serving as forerunners to today’s essential oil movement. However, the use of essential oils and similar products didn’t end there! The vast influence of the Egyptian empire made it the hub for the spread of essential oil knowledge throughout the ancient world.
The most prominent borrower of Egyptian knowledge was the Roman Empire. Rome invaded and conquered Egypt in 30 B.C., wresting control from Cleopatra and establishing itself as the preeminent civilization in the region.
This shift in power spurred the ascension of Roman clerics to the top of the natural-solutions pyramid. Their most lucrative botanical, balsam, was heralded for its varied uses. Rome also became famous for its bathhouses, which used aromatic botanicals such as bay laurel, pine, fir, and juniper. These plants and their extracted essential oils were also used in massages or other therapeutic practices. When baths were not available, ancient Romans used scented olive oils to clean their bodies, applying them to the skin and then scraping them off with an instrument called a strigil.
One of the most enduring records of essential oil use during the Roman Empire is the New Testament. Israelites used essential oils such as frankincense, cedarwood, hyssop, fir, and spikenard to heal wounds and elevate spiritual communion. The most famous example of the value that essential oils had in Israelite culture is in the telling of the birth of Jesus, to whom gifts were given of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
The Egyptian and Roman empires may have declined, but ancient healers’ wisdom continued to spread. Renowned writers from the Middle East such as Persian polymath Ibn Sīnā (980–1037 A.D.) and Islamic botanist and physician Ibn al-Baitair (1197–1248 A.D.) promoted the use of herbs and essential oils. In 12th-century Germany, Saint Hildegard of Bingen used herbs and oils in her practice and gave valuable insight into medieval medicine with her works, including Physica, a 200-chapter chronicling of plants and their uses.*
It’s obvious that the ancient world, from Egypt, to Rome, to Israel, to Persia, regarded essential oils and other plant byproducts highly.
But how, exactly, did our ancestors extract essential oils from plants, and how did these early methods evolve into today’s highly advanced extraction technology? Join me for my next post to find out!

Yes there's an Oil for that Too? Ask Me?
