Frankincense, the King of Essential Oils

As most of you will Frankincense was one of the gifts brought by the Three Kings to baby Jesus. This oil was highly prized for it’s medicinal qualities and only the rich and royalty could afford to purchase this oil. It still remains today the Jewel in the Crown of oils.

Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine said:
  1. ‘Let food be thy medicine.’

All medicine was plant based and not synthetically manufactured with chemicals that are alien to our bodies

Frankincense derives from a specific variety of trees from the Genus Boswellia carterii or Boswellia sacara and contains lifesaving values.

The oil is extracted from the sap or resins of the tree commonly grown in Somalia. The more opaque the resin the better the quality of oil is produced, It can grow in desolate conditions and requires little soil.
I has an earthy balsamic, slightly spicy scent.

At first I used to think it was expensive but now I realise it’s very special value.

Some of the MANY Uses of Frankincense

Anti-inflammatory.
It is a universal oil for inflammation.
Rub the oil on affected areas, especially for rheumatism.
Also a neural inflammatory. This oil can cross the blood brain barrier rapidly which modern medicines cannot do.
Helps reduce swelling from INSECT bites.

Analgesic
Relieves the conditions when pain and inflammation exist.
For painful GOUT sufferers rub into the affected parts. Use 50% oil and 50% carrier oil and massage 3-4 times daily.
Cold and congestion: Inhale over a bowl of hot water with added oil or use in a diffuser.
Anti-cancer.
Much research has been done on this has been shown to help colon, lung, breast, cervical and brain tumours. Chemotherapy cannot access the blood brain barrier direct but Frankincense can. It contains sesquiterpones which penetrate the brain cells. Visit this site formore in depth information:

Boswellia reduces inflammation and helps prevent cancerous cell growth.
Anti-ageing
Known for it ability to diminish the signs of wrinkles and remove sun spots/age spots.
Reduces the appearance of blemishes .
Treats scars and wounds.
NB. Use with Lavender as a layer oil. This helps push the oil in deeper. There have been some amazing results reported.
Can also helps with skin tags, moles and warts.

Helps with stress and anxiety management.
Massage on temples for feeling of calmness or simply inhale.

Eye Health

May help fight against cataracts.
Use topically around the outside of the eyes.
