It’s time to spring clean and
Detox your Body
It’s
that time of year again when something inside of us stirs and says
it’s time to get rid of all that winter heaviness, sludge. I’ve
no idea why this happens, all I know is that it does,. Housework is
not one of my most favourite pastimes but I do get a sense of
lightness and cleanliness when the annual job is done. I feel ready
and prepared for Spring and Summer fun activities.
But what about our bodies?
Signs
that your body is screaming at you for a detox.,
Is
it time to get rid of that sluggish, bloated feeling?
It
doesn’t have to be drastic and you don’t need a doctor.
Detox
is anything that helps rid the body of toxic waste, negative
thoughts, stress, anxiety and harmful organisms.
Here
are some signs for that you may need a detox.
-
Fatigued
-
Constipated
-
Brain fog. Unable to focus.
-
Depressed
-
Overweight. Trouble losing weight.
-
Trouble sleeping.
7Unexplained
headaches
8Unusual
soreness or stiffness
9Skin
problem.
10Sudden
allergic reactions,
Every
day we are exposed to pollutants, pesticides, chemicals etc.
Home
made detox drinks help to naturally reduce inflammation boost energy,
cleanse liver and promote healthy skin.
These
can be made using many fruits and vegetables.
One
of the easiest and most relaxing ways is to use essential oils in a
detox bath. The essential oils provide antioxidants, antimicrobial
and anti-inflammatory benefits together with Epsom salts and a little
bit of honey to flush out impurities.
My
favourite is a Lavender Detox bath.
If
you have no bath make the ingredients into massage salts and use in
the shower.
Juniper
oil is used as a diuretic and can help flush out toxins and excess
water including excessive amounts of salt.
Grapefruit
essential oil helps kill virus’s within the body as well as
microbes. Also another diuretic which helps flush out water and
toxins.
One
aspect of the detox process is getting the digestive system to
function at its best.
The
liver as one of the most important organs in the body does well with
mandarin oil. A liver that is not performing at its best has a
domino effect on the rest of the body and it should be top priority
in your detox plan. Mandarin oil can help purify the blood and
improve the circulatory system.
Hyssop
oil is rather less known but it is often used to treat digestive
issues. The digestive system is the most important part of the
process because that’s what helps eliminate most of the toxins. If
it grows sluggish then the body is at risk for many diseases and
conditions. Using hyssop oil is a great way gently and gradually,
moving your body forward to improved health.
Remember
that if your skin is sensitive you can always use essential oils on
the bottom of your feet.
