Summer Scents

Summer Scents.

Feeling too Warm?

A cooling Aromatherapy Blend for those Hot Days

Geranium plants like to grow in many countries and regions, but many varieties tend to avoid areas that get too hot and humid.
Geranium likes to stay cool. . . Peppermint is the best friend to Geranium oil. ( Geranium plants grow well in Spain.)
Peppermint is always happy to help its friends feel refreshed. Now anytime you feel overheated use this Geranium and Peppermint spray spritz on the face, neck, and chest to rebalance your temperature and “chill out.”
They’re both great for calming inflammation and clearing excess heat.
This cooling blend doesn’t contain essential oils,  just hydrosols so you can spritz it freely on your face.

Geranium Mint Hydrosol Spritz
  • 1 oz (30 ml) Rose Geranium hydrosol (Pelargonium capitatum)
  • 1 oz (30 ml) Peppermint hydrosol (Mentha × piperita)
Make this blend in a 2 oz (60 ml) clear glass bottle.
This can be stored in the fridge.

So, what are HYDROSOLS?

If you’re not familiar with hydrosols, they’re created during the process of distilling a plant. When the plant is distilled with hot water and steam, it releases its essential oil . . . but the water itself becomes infused with the plant’s water soluble components. So at the end of distillation, we have the essential oil and the water portion of the distillate—the hydrosol!
Hydrosols are much gentler than essential oils and don’t come with the same safety considerations. We can use them freely on our skin without dilution, even on our faces.

My favourite scent for Summer Sweet ORANGE.

Sweet orange creates comfort and health all around.

One of it’s best effects is for supporting indigestion after those long summer evening meals.

It supports nausea if you are going to be traveling and have problems with travel sickness.

Another great benefit is that it supports breathing. Often in the Summer months, it can be very humid with stifling air. Orange helps support clear breathing and relaxation.

Not only that it just smells so fresh and is a great aid to relaxation. Great to diffuse at Siesta time!!!

A word of caution about phototoxic essential oils, especially ++lemon and lime.

Do not put directly onto your body before sun exposure!!!!!

****Remember to keep hydrated with plenty of water.

Your pets also need to be considered in this hot weather

Enjoy the summer!
